Golf shows solidarity with Parkinson’s & Alzheimer’s sufferers

With the President of the Republic as patron, on 23rd January a tournament took place in Vale do Lobo from which receipts went to the Algarve Continuing Care Centre to be built in Tavira, an initiative by the Humanitarian Association of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s sufferers.

On that Saturday, the Ocean Golf Course welcomed some 80 golfers ready to participate in a charity golf event with the receipts from the tournament coming from companies' financial support to the participating teams.

Founded in 1998, the AHDPA, the Humanitarian Association of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s sufferers, provides social and health support services to those suffering from Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases and their families.

At its headquarters in Quarteira, it carries out psychotherapy work, providing occupational and rehabilitation tasks for patients, also providing domiciliary support and psychological monitoring for patients and their families.
