Jarmo Sandelin - Optimistic about Algarve's future
According to Sandelin, the changes made to both the Ocean and Royal courses are considerable improvements.
"The new third hole for amateurs it is a tricky Par-5 with the lay-up. I would always lay-up short of the lake and not try to reach a little target on the left side of the lake. It's too dangerous. I prefer it as a Par-5 because before the Par-4 looked quite straightforward, but I'm sure there are mixed feelings about that[..]"
"On 'his' hole, the Ocean Par-3 hole No. 7. He calls it his hole because it is close to his house. "Before I was hitting an 8 iron and with the extra distance I need a 6 iron. From my point of view it's a great change"
Sandelin is very happy after his first six years at Vale do Lobo. He says that each time he leaves the Algarve he already looks forward to coming back."
