Isla Canela Golf course is situated within a Nature Reserve where the river Guadiana empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Its beautiful location and the mild climate of the region make it an ideal destination for golfing all year around.
The golf course, designed by Juan Catarineu, is successfully integrated into existing flat terrain and is very comfortable to walk. Wide fairways run between natural dunes and many trees - oranges, olives, eucalyptuses and palms- have been introduced not only to enhance the location but, by their position, to provide natural hazards. At first sight it looks like an easy golf course, but it has its hidden difficulties.

Course was in great condition the club house was great as the restaurant doesnt open until 12.00 noon. No Buggy available. Range is good and Putting Green. Course is tough with bunkers and water on every hole.

Challenging front 9 holes with tight narrow fairways provides a mental battle for predominantly long drive specialists.
Back 9 presents its own challenges with tiered and well protected greens.
Mature Course in good condition, well presented traditional clubhouse.

A nice warm welcome from the staff member at reception. The course though was a little disappointing. The layout wasn't very interesting and the condition of the course was below average.

Interesting layout, but course very tired and fairways patchy and as hard as concrete.

The golf court is fine but there were too many people and you had to wait long.

Course in good condition, greens are fast; hole 17 par 5 due to construction work only a par 3,
construction work on the course is partly impacting the golfing experience currently

Decent course with good greens. Pace of play is slow probably due to there being no ranger on duty or perhaps trying to squeeze too many people onto the course.

An OK course, nothing to make me want to rush back. Flat and easily walkable, but dreadfully slow. We had a five hour round and waited on literally every tee and approach shot.
