Salgados Golf Course, situated in one of the best-known regions of the Algarve, between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra, and is already a 'postcard' of Portugual golf courses. In fact, the proximity of the sea and the variety of lakes make this a very unique and interesting test of golfing skills, different from other courses in the Algarve.|The 6,000 metre links, replete with water obstacles, is not very long, but the sea breeze obliges players to use all theyr skills to reach the greens. The accuracy of the drive is crucial for achieving good scores, thus making the course a pleasant experience, especially for technically-skilled player.

Problems at the start. Mistakes made and confusion between start from hole 1 and hole 10. Start too late

Starting time was not respected, one hour later.

Fast greens but with some unrepaired pitch marks .
Fairways would definitely benefit from more watering .
Sand in bunkers very stoney and coarse.
Very challenging for a higher handicapper like myself who was also off their game and lost far too many balls otherwise , we’re lucky to be out here playing these courses.
Good organisation as always from Jim - thank you.

A nicely maintained golf course but with a strong wind a very difficult course to not lose quite a few balls

I enjoy playing Salgados, but the tee time at 2.00pm was too late. We also trailed a slow group so the round took 4 hours 50 minutes and by the time we finished all the earlier groups had left. Would much prefer tee times to be earlier 11.00 to 12.00 and the group less than 40 players so the early starters have not all left when finished.

Lovely clubhouse , course very average , to expensive for a average course , Algarve golf may price it’s self out the market in near future

I did make it clear that my wife was not an experienced golfer and that we would want to play in a 2 ball. They tried to put us in a 4 ball but at the last minute found a 2 ball slot.
The booking was otherwise perfect and all the pickups were right on time.

First time playing this course and it was very impressive. The course was in excellent condition throughout and a decent pace of play was kept. The only downside for us was that the kitchens were closed when we finished.our round at 05-30pm so we could not get any food.

Excellent greens that hold shots, fairways in very good condition with nice grass, however course was saturated due to heavy rains recently, so water hazards were overflowing their boundaries and some cart paths were under water. The course offers generally nice views, but holes are a bit monotonous, as fairways are lined with the same palm trees everywhere, all the same height. But would definitely play again at the Easter special rate, but would not pay the regular rate.
