Salgados Golf Course
Salgados is Pedro Vasconcelos's design, laid out with American architect Robert Muir Graves and opened in September 1994 within the wetlands of the Salgados Lagoon Nature Reserve, near Albufeira. A substantial renovation followed in 2012 under landscape architect Álvaro Mano, and the course has been freshened again more recently, including a new island green at the 12th.
It's a flat, links-style par 72 of around 6,100 metres, where water does most of the defending, in play on the majority of holes rather than literally every one. The signature pairing is the 6th, a par-5, and the reworked 12th, a par-3 played to that new island green. Palm trees line the fairways in place of the pines found elsewhere in the Algarve, and the wind off the coast is a constant factor on this exposed, open site. The flat ground means the buggy is optional rather than essential.
The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar, and the resort adds a driving range, resident professionals, locker room and pro shop. Book a round at the course built into a wetland reserve, and one regularly singled out as some of the best value golf in the Algarve.

On arrival the reception was excellent. Went to collect our buggy bearing mind it was 32°. The caddymaster put us four cartons of water and loads of ice into our little box went over and above what he needed to do course was in excellent condition i recommend it to anyone.

Thanks to Simon Bryce and all his colleagues for their efforts and the service they provided.
My group had an issue with the delivery of the prepaid golf clubs that we hired, in that the delivery person did not leave the clubs at our hotel as arranged. We required to collect them at your office the following morning which opens at 0830 hours. Although very close to missing our 0850 hours tee off time everyone involved the lady, the younger gentleman (who arranged a taxi to take us from your office the golf course) and Simon did everything to resolve the issue which we appreciated.
Also thanks to Simon for arranging an additional set of golf clubs at very short notice for one of our group, as the baggage handlers in Glasgow did not load them onto the aircraft resulting in him having no clubs for our first game of golf.

There was a 20 minute delay getting on the course which we felt was due to over booking. This resulted in us having to start on the 10th tee which we felt was more difficult

Campo muito bonito e desafiante, principalmente com vento. A única coisa a apontar é o tipo de relva utilizada, o que chamamos de "Grama" erva muito dura e mais difícil de se jogar.
