Alto Golf & Country Club, located in Portugal’s Western Algarve, is a premier golf and country club resort, set in beautifully landscaped gardens with villas, apartments and townhouses, many with superb views of the sea, the golf course or the fabulous gardens.|The winding fairways and elevated greens reflect Sir Henry’s golfing philosophy of providing low handicap players with a testing game and still affording plenty of enjoyment for players at average club level and providing satisfaction and inspiration for beginners. The opening nine holes offer fine views over the bay of Lagos. The back nine, set on rolling slopes, include the remarkable Henry Cotton Challenge, the longest Par 5 in Europe.
Everything fine. Warm welcome at the reception, shorttimed start procedere, Course in top condition. Everything went well, we will take your Services again, it was the best we even could expect
Course in good condition. Had been heavily watered so the front 9 plays a lot softer than the back 9. However the greens were firm and fast. I like what they’ve done to shorten the very long par 5, putting in the par 3. Still a good test.
Course in very good condition and pace of play was very good - a very enjoyable experience

Course in good condition and pleasant to play but needs more effective marshalling to speed up some groups - we took around 4.45 hours and group in front was very slows so that there was a big gap ahead of them by the end.
Very nice golfcourse.

Nice to play, good value for money.

Challenging especially due to the elevated greens. Greens excellent conditions
It was wonderfulbagain ??????????????
I have not played Alto for about 4 years, it has improved immensely and I would highly recommend to any golfers, greens are perfect also Fairways & Tee boxes, I enjoyed my game, playing with a couple on Holidays from Bournemouth in England. This Golf course has some lovely features.
A warm welcome and course in excellent condition.
Great service thanks
Quick reliable service Much appreciated
Layout dies not coincide with our gps.
Nice tree lined golf course and a good challenge as the course is quite tight off the tee. Greens were very good.
Course very wet from the overnight rain and, as a result, the greens were also very slow. Always very friendly over there and good 19th hole menu.
Very challenging tree lined course but in excellent condition
Course & Clubhouse facilities were all very good
Fair test of golf. Some narrow drives, greens tight with good speed.
Good course Clubhouse welcoming
Good Course. Very enjoyable. Disappointed with clubhouse food facilities when we finished

We have played alto for many years and since the involvement of Pestana group we have found improvement year upon year until now it is one of our favorite courses which we will play in the future.
in great condition. a bit hilly! we love a few beers overlooking the 18th green.
Tres bon accueil Parcours de ville, etroit avec des petits greens surelevés et à plateau...bref, pas simple ;) mais les bons coups sont recompensés ;) Tres bon moment avec mon pere. Parfait
Good pace, nice service. Excellent first round.
Course was in good condition and, teeing off first thing, meant we were able to get round quickly. Friendly staff in the bar and the clubhouse, we will return.

On time start and course in very good condition.

well kept course good test and excellent price
The course was in very good ondition, an attractive but shortish layout. My only criticism was that us as a two ball got stuck behind a four ball for the last seven holes do progress was painfully slow. There was no marshalls going around to Dodd play up. A map of the 18 hole layout on the scorecard would be helpful, more so at the other Pestaba golf courses in the area rather than Altos.
Very nice !
Beautiful course. Long sweeping doglegs. Great condition.
Beautiful park land city course in great condition. The new par 3 and the shorter par 5 is a big improvement.
Good course and good greens. Very enjoyable.
We always like to play here. Not a spectacular golf course nor very difficult but enjoyable. Some changes were made (two par-5’s became par 4’s, a par-3 was eliminated and a new one created) which made the course even better.

Didn't enjoy this course since it has been changed in layout. Very long par 4s that were hard to reach in 2 good shots!! Very rough grass even on fairways. Disappointing as there has been a lot of work done by pestana to bring this course up to a good standard.
Course condition poor, particularly fairways, speed of plat satisfactory
Too many players, no marshals to speed slow players
Greens were in a pretty awful condition and rest of the course not that great.
Nice course, well presented. Only issue on the day was having to wait over and hour for our transfer home and call them a few times.
Nice layout although some of the party thought the course had too many dog legs. Greens were in average condition
Friendly helpful staff
Very good and the greens were in great shape.
Had a very enjoyable day, very well organised and I am looking forward to applying for my membership and playing in the coming weeks!
Nice looking course with some long par 5's. Good shape and good to walk as it is not too long.
Really good challenging golf course with most of the greens being elevated but fairly receptive. Not for high handicap players as it is tight in places and accuracy is required.
Great course, some very short holes, but overall a good challenge.
Park land Course didn't enjoy. Can play this type of course at home

Course in good condition. Play went well, no hold ups
Good test of golf and different to Gramacho and Vale da Pinta in terms of playing from the trees! Would have been good of the course to advise golfers of the poisonous caterpillars before play!
A very very busy course that did not seem to have a Marshall monitoring the slow play. We had a tee time of 2.15 and would not have finished before dark. However we walked off after 6 holes as there was a huge queue in front of us for the nest tee.
Course in very good condition.
My least favourite of the four, very small greens but enjoyable all the same. Staff were friendly
I really liked Altos golf course and found it a fair challenge and in good condition, however some members of our group struggled with the course and found it difficult.
Easy to find. Course in good condition and enjoyable to play.
Enjoyed game. Very slow play - took almost 5 hours. We arrived early for our booked tee time of 10.21am, however on arrival we were told by the starter our tee time was 10.48am. We did actually get out at 10.30am because we were a two ball and would have been sandwiched between two four balls. Course condition good.
Friendly, helpful staff and had no difficulty with anything with regards to the golf. I though the cost for this course to be a bit high. Will not be likely to play it again.
Well organized and flexible. Enjoyed !

Golfplatz sehr schön und gepflegt, schwierige, leicht zu unterschätzende Grüns
Only down side is the cost of the buggies. Very expensive and as we were playing 5 rounds in a row we needed to hire every day. Added 225€ to our week!
Rained heavily all day and we had to stop after 7 holes as the course was unplayable, course should have been closed but wasn't. After much discussion, they did give us vouchers for buggies the next day which was positive at least.
Good condition enjoyed our round although it was very slow. 5 hour round.
