Alto Golf & Country Club, located in Portugal’s Western Algarve, is a premier golf and country club resort, set in beautifully landscaped gardens with villas, apartments and townhouses, many with superb views of the sea, the golf course or the fabulous gardens.|The winding fairways and elevated greens reflect Sir Henry’s golfing philosophy of providing low handicap players with a testing game and still affording plenty of enjoyment for players at average club level and providing satisfaction and inspiration for beginners. The opening nine holes offer fine views over the bay of Lagos. The back nine, set on rolling slopes, include the remarkable Henry Cotton Challenge, the longest Par 5 in Europe.
Course in really good condition. Really tough course that needs all shot shapes.new layout threw the GPS a bit. Would be handy to have slope rating on cards
The course was generally in good condition, the greens has been recently spiked and were a bit slow as a result. The course Is very tight in places but quite short, so not unplayable but it is a tough challenge in places. Some of the greens are very tough to hit, with unforgiving surrounds. Not my personal favourite layout but still enjoyable. Disappointing that the kitchen was closed for the day. Not sure if that is a one off or regular, but was expecting lunch at the club and had to go elsewhere.
Greens very good. Fairways a bit patchy in places but considering the time of year very good.
Well mantained course but not total fair. Due to 2 par 4 holes which are not reachabel in 2.
Great course, greens had just been too dress and hollow tined so were a little bumpy. Other than that, good experience
Like all the courses we played, the course was desperately in need of rain. But third time I've played it and it was better than I thought. Enjoyed the day
Good course but tees need attention. Receptionist not very welcoming. Clubhouse good.

Wet and unfriendly reception.

We came with good expectations after four days of no rain and were very disappointed to find that fairways were not cut and we are playing like in semi rough on first nine and then hole 16 and 18 on second nine. This should not be offered on a course of this standard, no roll and sometimes problem to find your ball on fairway. Greens are fine.
