Ferragudo Golf Course is a Par 73, measuring:
5,841 metres from the White Tees
5,227 metres from the Yellow Tees
4,594 metres from the Red Tees
One of the course's most distinctive features is the presence of several historic ruins scattered throughout the property. Among them, an old chapel stands out as a true landmark. Located at the intersection of four holes — the 9th, 10th, 12th and 13th — it creates a unique focal point rarely found on a golf course. Plans have been announced to restore the chapel and potentially transform it into a halfway house and golfers' refreshment stop.
Unlike many modern resort courses, Ferragudo Golf Course relies on its strategic design rather than water hazards to test players. Water comes into play only on the finishing hole, the 18th, a Par 5 and Stroke Index 6, where a lake guards the approach to the green and adds excitement to the final challenge of the round.
The course promises plenty of shot-making opportunities thanks to its imaginative routing, varied hole designs and thoughtful integration with the surrounding landscape. But it's a interesting course and the approach to the green

We paid an additional 120euro to move from Alto to play Ferragudo - turned out to be not worth the money as course is not yet developed to a standard that warrants the Green fee -all greens are compacted sand with the shrubs (thorny plants everywhere) off the fairways making impossible to play if slightly off the fairway… called many provisional balls to be played. Course not on any golf apps with many blind holes making it very difficult. No layout at tee boxes. No practical facilities including no putting green . Restaurant closed when we came in - closed all week !! Would appreciate Pestana to price it appropriately and compensate current players ??

A very new course that needs to bed in, the greens certainly needed watering.
But you could definitely see the potential of this new course within 12 months it will be a fine addition to the Algarve.

Ferraguda has only just opened and as expected there is lots of development work surrounding the course.
The greens are outstanding but very quick. The fairways were generally very good with a very few areas still to bed in.
Many fairways are bordered by scrubland which can make the fairways very tight.
Overall another great course for the Algarve.

A lot of potential. This course certainly has that. But it’s still far from ready: it hasn’t been measured yet, there’s no cr/sr, no handicap table (hcp vs shots) and there aren’t any proper overviews of the holes, etc. The staff are really more than friendly and helpful, but charging the full green fee at this stage is a bit too much.
