Monte Rei Golf Course, is set in the picturesque foothills of the Eastern Algarve, with sweeping views of the Serra do Caldeirão mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. A truly unique design; with water coming into play on eleven of the eighteen holes, Monte Rei golf course features an enjoyable series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s in a challenging and distinctive layout. Monte Rei golf course presentation is highly individual, each hole a design gem blending effortlessly into this natural canvas, from its ingenious shape and sculptured bunkers, to the impressive presentation and attention to detail making every golf hole as remarkable as the next; fairways and greens are bordered by several lakes, indigenous plants, native grasses and trees adding drama to the landscape, and providing golfers with unforgettable moments to cherish in this unique and tranquil golf environment.

WOW, What a golf course ! a must visit for any avid golfer whilst in the Algarve . Visually stunning from every tee box , stunning back drops but again very playable don’t let the slope index put you off , no hole disappointed us and the par 3s are great.
1st class service from arrival until you leave , Course could do with a little TLC around the edges but it’s still Fantastic and as Arnie said … I’ll be back !

A cut above for service and quality. Fantastic Jack Nicklaus signature design in great condition. Many really well laid out holes that make you think your way around the course. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Range is close to 1st tee with complementary balls waiting for you. Highly recommended

Fantastic service first of all from all the staff I had played here before in March 2013 and the course was more lush there are some stunning holes and amazing bunkering greens was running true and in good condition not a cheap venue but I wouldn’t hesitate to play again

The course is spectacular and should be experienced at least once. My group played on windy day which made scoring difficult. Condition of the course was okay but considering the cost of the green fee I would expect it to be better.

Monte Rei has long been voted the best course in Portugal for a good reason - great holes, great layout and a fantastic backdrop. It wasn't as green as would be ideal but never anything other than a great experience.

Very enjoyable day. Course and facilities were excellent. Staff were very helpful. We got our tee off time wrong and arrived over an hour early. Staff manage to facilitate our earlier time.

*Undulated - Rolling Fairways with several elevated tees
*Dogleg - On several holes
*Exposed - Very on elevated tees and open fairways
*Buggy Recommended - Included in Green Fee
*Water hazards - Designed wonderfully creating the desire for your best shot
*Parkland - Yes
*Signature Hole - Hard to choose, but the 13th, par 4 with is elevated tee and the entwined green wedged between the lake and the sand.
