Vila Sol Golf Course, one of the best Golf Course in Portugal , is characterized by its beautiful natural surroundings with a vast range of fauna, animal and plant life. Vila Sol Golf stretches along a wide valley, naturally sculpted by Mother Nature and divided into three loops with three different levels of difficulty: Prime, Challenge and Prestige.|Against this backdrop, full of trees and wildlife, carefully looked after and protected by specialist staff, golfers can discover an environment par excellence which will envelop them throughout the day. From the 1st tee to the Clubhouse, a large team of professionals are at work, and remain at your disposal to make this paradise a unique, unforgettable experience.|The Clubhouse, with its central location, is the starting and finishing point for each of the three 9-hole loops: the first heads to the East, the second to the West and the third to the South. You can also practice your game at the excellent driving range of around 300 meters, alongside the Clubhouse.
Very good course
Great course in excellent condition.
Course in good condition. Starting times poorly organised by club
good value and tough course
Nice course, it seems in better condition than when we last played there.
Golf course was 1st class. Our group of 8 all really enjoyed it. We had buggies which is something I would advise to anyone playing. Truly a 5 star course!!!!
Excellent service even though one loop of 9 was closed. The course is always in good condition and the bar and food were also pretty good.
Always a big challenge at Vila Sol. The 3 starting holes are as tough a start as anywhere. Straight hitting is key as the fairways are tight and tree lined. Today the scores highlighted how tough it is to keep a good score going. The greens were quite firm and fairly quick. Normally the greens are a bit slower than this. All in all a good day. Come and play...
Vila Sol is always a tough challenge. Yesterday was no exception with a stiff wind after some heavy rain the day before. The course was a bit tired and the greens a little bumpy. Nevertheless a good day out and round in good time. The fairways were very patchy and definately need pick and place to make the best of them.
The course was very good, with some very good views around vilamoura, the greens were in perfect condition and I was treated with the upmost respect. I would definitely play there again
Very good experience.
Great course, greens in excellent condition, a real good test.

Course needs investment and looked overplayed. Shame as the layout is wonderful.

Average golf course. Nothing fancy or can remember about. The Dom Pedro courses are a lot better than this.
Check in went smoothly. Lovely course. Reason I am not giving it a 10 is because it was quite slow as many people playing in front.
Excellent greens in great condition
Mr Kenneth Barnes2018-10-28
Enjoyed the course and the company. Good course with demanding holes. Staff friendly and helpful. Did not like practice facilities which had little grass and golf buckets unavailable. Other than that enjoyed the course.
Very welcome feeling arriving in the group. Easy going but still competition.

The course was ok
Very nice and easy course
Villa Sol was a nice course. It was busy for 3 holes then all of a sudden everyone spread out and it was millionaires Golf! Staff were all pleasant and greens were in great nick.
lovely course some holes challenging some picturesque other quite easy. on the day we played it was very quiet. so no hold ups; club house is great staff in the pro shop superb, friendly and helpful
I thought this was well overpriced compared to Victoria and millennium..
Having played Vale de Lobo for 2 days, Vila Sol looks very tired and unloved in comparison. It was very busy and they didn't have enough buggies for us. With the amount of people they have using the course they really have no excuse not to tidy it up a bit.
The tee boxes and areas around the green were of a poor standard. The vlubhouse and dtsaa were excellent and very helpful.
Course looking a little scruffy today.
Had a great day well organised and course in good condition.
The course was very busy today, but of course it was the weekend and many members were playing. In saying that the first nine was quick, but because there are 3 loops of nine holes the second nine was slow. Fairways and greens were in good order. The greens very quick once they dried out in the morning sun. Enjoyable round.
Always enjoy Vila sol
Good course but we found it hard to play. Overhanging trees
Course was excellent but shortage of buggies took from the experience
Excellent yet again
Golf course not in the best condition and pricey - cost of buggy if not with a package is overpriced at 45 euros. They need to look at this price compares to other in the area.
Really good quality of greens on holes o. 10-18 but holes not as good on 19-27.
Nice place interesting golf course
Mr IAN Hartis2018-07-22
Excellent course in very good codition
Deal was excellent Course was in really good condition. Not great but they were completing a lot of maintenance. Clubhouse good and it was fairly quiet which suited us.
Great booking. Rubbish golf - but that was our fault
We did play a heavy game but at the end it was all square????????

1st class golf course. In excellent condition. Greens nice speed and easy to read. Pace of play a little slow but not disastrous so. Very enjoy.
Good course value for money
People lovely and helpful but course looked a little “tired” compared to last time.
A wonderful golf course in very good condition, lush fairways and true fast greens but to score well you need to avoid the trees. Will definitely play the course again.
Great courses and customer service. Very prompt pick up and drop off.
Nice course well maintained with some challenging holes. Holes 10 and 18 were closed for maintenance but we enjoyed playing on 19-27 course.
Top layout and the course was in lovely condition . Need your A game around there especially if the wind blows

Great couse , bit busy 5 hour round
Really enjoyed the course and not too busy!!’
Vila Sol is always a wonderful experience
First nine is great. Second nine is not so good.
The first time in several years that I have played Vila Sol and it was in good order although probably not as good as the Dom Pedro courses I played in October 2017
Nice course in good condition. We played 19 to 27 for the first time and refer to play 1 to 18.
Excellent course in very good condition. Perhaps more suited to lower handicap golfers because of tight fairways and long par threes
Very nice course and good pace of play. Very long from ladies tees. Easily walked without too much elevation change.
Staff very friendly, course in good condition, need to be accurate from the tee!
Terrain très sec !
We were very disappointed with the speed of play and condition of the course although we still had lovely company with friends but very poor value for money, thank you

Great setting but was really disappointed by the condition of the course. Parched fairways, pitted greens and rough tee boxes. This was previously a super course in top condition. was the worst course we played all week. Not worth the money we payed. Would play other courses, not this one again.
Excellent course but play was extremely slow. Group was very friendly. Enjoyed the day

Ein sehr schöner Platz in einem guten Pflegezustand, Rate: 7
Der Golfplatz war im top Zustand, leider am 1. Januar beim herrlichen Wetter sehr voll und entsprechend langsames Spiel
Always great to play Vila Sol. Please check your tee time before arrival as they will book you on a later time if members want to play at your original tee time. Restaurant staff could be better and the club house and changing rooms are freezing cold.
Very good course with excellent variety of holes
This course is excellent quality and a true challenge, because of this however it took us 2hrs50mins to play 9 holes. As we had a flight to catch and knew we would not finish the round, we chose to stop after 9 holes to relax and have something to eat. This was very disappointing. Feel that the speed of play in front was not managed and the handicaps of the players should be limited.
Arrived in ample time and starter allowed us out early before another group reached the nineteenth. Accurate tee shots required on some narrow fairways.
Not the easiest course. Tight tree lined fairways and surprisingly slow greens. But a nice venue and the greens run true. If you score well here you have played well.
Course is overplayed and tired
Buggies are to dear at 45 euros ..some of the holes the quality of the grass was poor particularly close to the greens, again as with the other course the buggy paths were very poor. ..The greens themselves were probably the best of the five courses we played .
Enjoyable course but a little to busy starting and on the turn due to the 3 loops of 9 which caused a delay and quite a slow round
Probably the poorest of the 4 Would have preferred the original 18 Quite slow to play
The course was in very good condition. Play moved well in line with guideline time of 4h30. The service was excellent.
Nice course for a good price
Friendly welcome. Played the ''other 9 holes'' 19 to 27 for the first time and was really impressed. Really enjoyed my time playing there.
This course looks a bit tired compared to others in the area in the same price bracket (Laguna, Millennium)
Looking tired. Course needing money spent on it to stay in touch with the competition. Shame as it's a great layout
Good course. Very challenging with a lot of trees. Greens were a little disappointing as they were very slow. But overall I enjoyed playing it very much.
Holes 1-9 are lovely, very much like Vilamoura Old, 19-27 not the same standard and felt cramped
We thought the course was pretty poor this year compared to the last few years. they were doing maintenance to the greens.
Great course would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent, course not in the best condition I've played before and seems less well maintained now.
Very helpful friendly staff, with good amenities. The course layout is a bit strange and for the less energetic or for those not used to golfing in hot weather I would recommend hiring a buggy.
Excellent holiday golf course. Just as good as we remembered it. Very friendly staff.
Lovely course layout but fairways not the best
OK course but gave the impression of over use. But only when compared with some other Algarve courses!
Played in Sept last and enjoyed it so we had to return. Fairways were not as good as September which was a shame as it distracted from the rest of the course.
Very good test of your golf but the course and pathways need more maintenance.
Took to long, we had to get off after 4.45 h at hole 15 to get to the light.
Great Course loved the greens!
Vila Sol holes 1-9 are brutal, you are either carrying water to the greens or you are hitting down a narrow fairway, once on the putting greens they all slope back to water (if its a water hole).... but still looking forward to having another go !
Very busy on all 27 holes, but they got us off the tee on time & course was in good condition. Played twilight & buggy hired. Only informed when on the tee that the buggy needed to be back by 7.45pm & bar closed at 8pm. Fastest back 9 I've played for a while & scorecard reflected it.. Waiter was hovering over us to finish our drinks & kick us out?
Our least favourite course. When we arrived we asked for push carts and were told there was only one. My husband decided to carry. By the time we left the pro-shop, there were no push carts. I am not able to carry and we had to rent a buggy although I would much rather walk. We felt that the proshop could have given us a reduced price for the buggy but we were still asked to pay 45 Euros. The course was narrow to play and in our opinion not nearly as nice as the other four. We asked to change our second tee-time at Via Sol to another course and I appreciate your help in doing so. The drive from the Atlantico took 75 minutes due to construction, another reason we did not like this course as much.
Our first time here - loved it , will certainly return
A lot of pines. Old and ingrown holes. Gated community houses all around, Remembers a bit on an American style. Nice club house with nice terrasse.
Great golf course, fairways were not in great condition
First time we have played the course. Not a course forhigh handicapers. You have to position your shots at most holes. Will definately play the courses again. The club is a bit greedy with the cost of there buggies at 45euros,especially at this time of the year.
Not in as good a condition as previously
Welcome and Service at the reception very friendly. Unfortunately the Course was in a not good condition. Trolleys old and shabby. No starter or buggy with drinks/snacks at the course. Compared to the other courses we played that week, Vila Sol came off a bit badly.
this is a fine golf course looking tired. however it is encouraging to see the ground staff working hard at repairing it pat horkan
This course is being improved monthly by Pestana. The removal of some trees that have become too big and are ruining the surface of the fairways with their shallow roots has improved the 19 - 27 holes. This removal may also address the negative comments made by players about the state of the paths etc. The roots have damaged the paths too. A great course, getting back to its former glory.
Today we played 10 - 18 and 19 - 27 (not everybody's favorite). However I thought the course was ok. The greens were fairly fast to start with but got slower as it got cooler. All in all a pretty fair day out.
Vila Sol was still a good course but this year it's condition was 'a bit used and tired'. Hopefully in future it will rise again.
Adrian Fraser Jones2016-10-24
In excellent condition
Dale Stowell 2016-10-24
Excellent course and facilities Service was very good
Still a great golf course (1-18) that's what we asked for and that's what we got.
Loverly course with tree lined fairways. Good greens and fairways. Staff very helpful. Will return next year.
Great picturesque course with top clubhouse and veranda for an after round beer. Greens were a little rough and ready but not too bad to detract from the round. Would play again.
Steve Brunton 2016-09-22
OK, but frustrating not to have played 10-18 again.
Really enjoyed our game here. Like the features around the course and a challenge of your skills too.
cool boxes on buggies would be good, we
Really enjoyed Vila Sol with its three separate nines and would definitely play there again.
Good course and facilities.
An excellent course
An excellent course
great condition some great holes to test the golfer, my favourite course
Excellent course in every aspect. Staff brilliant. Played here for the last ten years and it never disappoints.
There was too many waiting on the first tee. We were paired with a father and son who were very pleasant. They did not like the course and neither did we. The paths riding in the buggy were far too bumpy as tree roots were risen through them. The clubhouse was good and food nice.
Beautiful landscaping and varied holes, some with water, makes it challenging in places. A selection from 3, 9 hole courses makes it varied.
A very nice course, thoroughly enjoyed the golf - buggy was very welcome on this course.
Philip Buck 2016-06-22
Tough course. Spoilt a bit by the state of the greens on the front 9
Good course but not up to same standards as other courses this year
No food available on course the afternoon we played and course condition not as good as previous years
Kevin Steele 2016-05-22
A number of years since I played here and the standard of the tees and fairways were poor; such a great layout warrants some money spending to justify the green fee.
Not as good as the above but very enjoyable
Vila Sol was a bit disappointing this year with poorly manicured tee boxes
Challenging as ever but a little surprised at the number of players
Lovely golf course, good condition, good facilities
not in as good a condition as the other 2. looked a bit tired in places.
Good course offers good challenge to all level of Golfers.
Fabulous course great condition
Vey bad quality of golf course
A great layout, a good test of golf a little underkept but alot of traffic on this course , so understanable.
everything ok, bad tee boxes
Vila Sol Members Open Day 17/09/112011-09-20
On occasions the Society will support an external event. Saturday’s Vila Sol Open Day was one such occasion where invited guests had the opportunity to play alongside members on the Championship course (Prestige & Challenge) followed by lunch. New owners Pestana are making gradual improvements to reinstating it back to its former status as one of the finest courses in the Algarve - its layout is simply one of the finest and most challenging. It is 20 years old this year and found fame at an early age when it hosted the Portuguese Open two successive years in 1992 & 1993. Numerous tournaments followed including the famous Johnny Walker Classic, its home for five years and the continuing Bobby Robson Classic. Architect Donald Steel built a masterpiece demanding positional play at its very finest. The first four holes have a reputation as being one of the hardest starts in Portugal and deservedly so! Neither nine is any easier according to its members. As with any great course the closing holes are strong from the sloping and narrowing 17th to the 18th for a finish right outside the clubhouse terrace.
