Bordering with the breathtaking Ria Formosa Natural Park, some of its golf holes are blessed with what can only be described as exquisite beauty. If the first holes of San Lourenco golf course present no major surprise or challenges, after the 3rd, closer to the estuary, San Lourenco golf course starts to reveal itself. After the 5th hole, a par-3 and the course's shortest, you're introduced to a dogleg, stroke 1 sixth hole where your main challenge will be to avoid the dense shrub, so make sure you get your distances just right. As you get to the 7th, life is by no chance made easier but you still get the bonus of the outstanding views from this elevated tee before you have to focus on how to get around that green almost entirely surrounded by water. On the back nine, the 12th is the most challenging hole on San Lourenco, featuring a deep chasm along the left of a very narrow fairway. The eighth hole, is the most difficult Par 5 in the Algarve, a double dog leg of 580 yards and a narrow gap, 120 mt before a elevated green well protected by bunkers. The Corks Golf Course is also a mixture of the original 4 holes and 5 new holes with spectacular views of the Ludo valley and the Goldra hills beyond. ...

Vilamoura Pinhal Golf Course
Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course is a par 72 course and it is actually the second oldest in Vilamoura, dating back to 1976. In 1985 Robert Trent Jones was the one responsible for remodeling Pinhal. As suggested by the name, you will find numerous pine trees, which line most fairways, including some nearer the greens, making this a scenic, pleasant course to play. The downhill approach with three deep bunkers and a very narrow green entrance is a tricky adventure you'll have to face on this one. Overall this is a long and very strategic course and one where you will have to make use of your best tactics to make a good second shot on most holes – sometimes it is preferable not to land that shot too much in the middle of the fairway in order to make the next one slightly easier.
